Class Information

Class Roster

There are three ways to see a list of your class roster:

  1. Web Roster: Web Roster allows you to view photos of your students and can be accessed here using your Hunter Net ID.
  2. Faculty Center (via CUNYFirst): Instructions to access your roster on CUNYFirst
  3. Blackboard: In your Blackboard course, please check the Users list (Course Management Menu -> Users/Groups->Users) for a list of current students. If you notice email addresses other than MyHunter, please ask these students to update their email to MyHunter.  (This is especially important for students who are coming from other CUNY schools. Their emails do not update automatically.)

If you do not have a Net ID please contact the helpdesk at helpdesk@hunter.cuny.edu.

Taking Attendance

It is important to keep a record of your students’ attendance. Towards the beginning of every semester you will be contacted by email and asked to submit a verification of attendance. Attendance expectations should also be clear on your syllabus and can affect grading.

Follow these instructions to verify your attendance in the Faculty Center/CUNYFirst.

Teaching Schedule

It is important to check CUNYfirst to verify that your teaching schedule is correct. To view your teaching schedule, click here for instructions.

Nonmatriculated Courses/Grades

If you are teaching non-matriculated sections, please let students know that Silberman follows a Credit (CR)/No Credit (NC) grading system and that students must request a letter by the end of the second week of class. For more information about requesting letter grades visit the Grades page.

Textbook Information

Hunter has a new online bookstore hosted by Akademos. All required textbooks for the course or courses you are teaching have been entered into the system by your department chair.

Please use your CUNYFirst username and password to login into the bookstore and access the list for each course. If a textbook is missing, please contact your department chair. If you would like to add additional texts, please contact Sandi McCray (smccra@hunter.cuny.edu) in the Dean’s Office for step by step instructions.

If you would like to borrow a desk or review copy of the textbook, please reach out to Ingrid Kalemi. We may have your textbook here at Silberman to share. You can also request your own copy from the publisher at no charge. Look for the Request a Review Copy (Desk Copy) button on the publisher’s website.
